TWINNING PROJECT
“Strengthening the regulatory capacity of Israel in the field of telecommunications, with a focus on service provision over networks owned and operated by others”
The EU Twinning Projects and the Twinning with the Ministry of Communication of Israel
Twinning is a European Union instrument for institutional cooperation between public administrations of EU Member States and similar institutions in partner countries.
The Israeli Ministry of Communications (MoC) has asked for assistance in the frame of a twinning project in the area of regulation of Elcectronic Communicatios. The Twinning has been assigned to a Consortium formed by the Regulatory Authorities of Italy (AGCOM), Germany (BNetzA) and Latvia (SPRK). AGCOM is the leading partner of the Project.
The EU provided a 1.5 million Euro grant to Israel in order to support the implementation of a work programme aimed to approximate Israel’s regulatory practices to EU legislation and best practices, where appropriate, through integration of the project results into national regulatory instruments.
