The New European Union Electronic Communication Code

The Member States experts from Italy and Latvia as well as representatives from the Ministry of Communications held several meetings on consumer protection in Tel Aviv during April 1-3, 2019.

Many topics were covered during the mission focussing on Consumer protection in the EU. The Union regulatory framework was presented as well as the novelty introduced on the same issue by the new European Union Electronic Communication Code (EU EC Code) approved in December 2018. Some presentations were also provided in order to describe the Italian and Latvian legislative and regulatory framework consumer protection. Finally, the AGCOM role in the consumer protection area was also presented detailing its mission on CP, main activities and ex ante regulation.
